Industry Experts Convene to Examine Call Authentication for a Safer Voice Channel
iconectiv’s Michael O’Brien to Participate in State of the Call Summit Panel That Explores How to Restore Trust in Voice Calls
What: The battle against spam and fraudulent calls demands cutting-edge solutions. While STIR/SHAKEN and regulation has helped address part of the problem—it's a first of several measures needed to be taken by the industry to minimize the robocalls and spoofing that continues to present a significant threat to the integrity of the voice channel. Communications service providers (CSPs), regulators and spam analytics providers are coming together to address call authentication in the United States and how to stay one step ahead of fraudsters and spammers.
Michael O’Brien, iconectiv’s Executive Vice President of Business Development and call authentication expert, will join a panel of industry experts to discuss the complexities, challenges and opportunities for improving call authentication, and how it is a critical step in restoring trust in the voice call.
The panelists will also provide insights to questions such as:
- Are scammers identifying vulnerabilities and connection points in the ecosystem and/or finding loopholes between regulation, analytics and CSP services?
- What are the critical next steps on collaboration in the ecosystem to defeat number and identity spoofing?
- Inbound versus outbound or originating versus terminating, what are the implications for business and consumers?
