State AGs’ Plea to Help Fight Robocalls During Pandemic

The National Association of Attorneys General is calling on USTelecom’s robocall-fighting squad (known formally as the Industry Traceback Group) to work with state AGs to crack down on surging robocalls.

Scammers have been preying on the coronavirus pandemic since March, as MT reported. Ericsson subsidiary iconectiv, the “policy administrator” that has been leading industry efforts to tamp down on illegal robocalls, has warned that fraudulent calls may increase in the coming weeks as more government stimulus checks hit the bank accounts of tens of millions of Americans.
